Drawn to create
Making pictures has always been something I’ve felt compelled to do — a way of paying attention and making sense of the world around me. Over time, drawing became less about producing finished images and more about noticing: light moving through trees, the quiet presence of old buildings, the way nature softens what’s been left behind.
After studying a BA in Graphic Design, which gave me a strong grounding in composition and visual thinking, I have been working in this industry for over 15 years. My current employment at a full-service creative agency has given me the opportunity to design and illustrate for many high-profile clients including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Estée Lauder and Urban Eat. My personal art practice is a space for applying my skills with creative expression, where I can capture the world around me with authenticity and mindfulness.
My work is guided by a gentle, human approach to landscape and place. I’m drawn to overlooked scenes and everyday environments, particularly where history, nature, and time intersect. Rather than aiming for exact representation, I work in layers, allowing marks to remain visible and forms to soften. This process reflects how places are experienced and remembered — atmospherically, slowly, and with feeling. I want the work to feel calm and considered, offering space to pause and connect rather than demanding attention.
I share my ongoing practice on Instagram, where I document works in progress and studio reflections. For those who would like to support my work more closely, Patreon offers a way to follow projects as they develop. I also accept a limited number of commissions; if you have a project in mind, I’d be very happy to hear from you.
